MARKETING COORDINATION/
MARKET RESEARCH
For three years I oversaw marketing for a consulting company founded by my wife and I. I also have experience conducting market research for my own ventures, as well as leading outreach campaigns.
WEBSITE CONTENT MANAGEMENT
In my previous position as Communications Advisor I managed the content for a parliamentarian's website. This included some HTML coding, uploading recent press releases, op-eds, and speeches, designing graphics, and writing original website content.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
In my last position and as an independent contractor I have designed logos, print ads, website banners, smartphone wallpapers, and mobile app splash pages.
DESKTOP PUBLISHING
I have experience designing and publishing digital magazines, newsletters, event tickets, and posters.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I am a big social media junkie, using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+ on a daily basis. In the workplace I have experience setting up and managing numerous social media accounts for my employers.
EVENTS COORDINATION/SUPPORT
In my previous position I took the lead in coordinating an annual Remembrance ceremony for Black veterans. I also have experience helping to put on community events.
MEDIA RELATIONS
I have experience media monitoring, writing press releases and op-eds, and setting up interviews for radio, print, and television.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Both in the workplace and as a part-time photographer I have taken pictures for internet use and print.
VIDEOGRAPHY
Over the past year I have focused on improving my video production skills for internet use, working on short films and personal projects.
WRITING/BLOGGING
I consider myself an excellent writer. In the past I served as the Canada Editor for CityMayors.com and have written numerous articles for Open File. In my last position I was a speech writer and wrote many articles for publication.
ADMINISTRATION/COORDINATION
My
administrative and coordination skills were tested as the Vice-Chair
and Secretary of the Young Barbadian Professional Society where I
oversaw the administration of the Board of Directors and the
organization as a whole. As volunteer Administrative Coordinator at a
Toronto-based non-profit, I coordinated the complete administration of
their body of ordained ministers. These experiences gave me the
expertise to support other organizations as a consultant.
TV CAMERA OPERATION
My
television experience includes volunteering as a weekly TV camera
operator with RogersTV's mobile productions division. I worked camera
for CJHL and Ottawa 67s hockey games. I currently volunteer as a TV
camera operator for a local webcast.
